Our Transnational Education team plans and delivers in-country teacher training courses which upgrade the level of teaching within the private and public education sector.
We have a large network of dedicated and highly experienced staff who tailor the design and the running of our courses to the specific context and the needs of the participants.
We have various case studies that showcase our work with past stakeholders across the globe, such as Ministries of Education, universities and public/private schools.
The 12 teachers on the course benefitted from the blended learning delivery model which combines collaborative online study with face-to-face teaching practice as they were either teaching full-time or working in full-time management roles. The course was designed and run online from the UK and two BSC accredited tutors spent a total of 4 weeks in Hong Kong for the face-to-face components of the course; assisting with lesson planning, observing teaching practice, evaluation and feedback.
The course objectives focussed on planning for language teaching and classroom management with a variety of sessions on lesson planning, use of resources for language teaching and managing the teaching and learning process. Participants commented on our professional approach and the high-level of training provided.
The course also looked at the ‘soft CLIL’ approach with a particular emphasis on building students’ academic and subject-specific lexicon.
