BSC Manchester Becomes an Authorised Occupational English Test (OET) Premium Preparation Provider
British Study Centres is delighted to announce that BSC Manchester is now an authorised Occupational English Test (OET) Premium Preparation Provider.
Since becoming an OET test venue in 2017, BSC Manchester has witnessed first-hand how demand for this English language test for healthcare professionals continues to grow as it gains wider recognition worldwide. Becoming a Premium Preparation Provider means that BSC Manchester offers high-quality OET preparation courses to help learners build and practise the skills they need to succeed in their test.
The Premium course offered at BSC Manchester covers each part of the paper in each of the four subskills. During the course, learners have the opportunity to practise the key skills needed to succeed in each part of the paper, look at how these skills apply to the OET test, and have test-like practice each lesson.
The lessons were designed in-house and approved by OET on completion of the Preparation Provider Programme. This programme was designed by OET to ensure that course providers are fully informed of how to effectively prepare learners for their test. At BSC, all teachers have completed relevant parts of this programme to ensure that the highest standard of teaching is delivered.
On the most recent OET course at BSC Manchester, we received a net promoter score of 50 (rating: Excellent). Learners stated:
"The preparation part of lectures were helpful. They gave me the new understanding to improve my skills. I’ve learnt new aspects about OET."
"I enjoyed the way of discussion of different things and the regular tests we did in the classroom and as homework."
Nadia Falou, Exam Centre Manager and Business Development Manager for Exams at British Study Centres, stated, "We are delighted to offer our intensive OET course here at BSC Manchester using our communicative approach to help learners practise and build the skills they need in order to feel better prepared for their test. Every learner receives preparation support from OET when they register for their test, and our course is designed to complement this in the hope that learners pass their test first-time."

British Study Centres Launches ELT School in Kyrgyzstan
British Study Centres has opened the first UK English language teaching school in the Kyrgyzstan capital of Bishkek.
The school, which is a franchise operation of the British Study Centres Group, opened this summer and caters for local students wishing to study English in their home-country.
The Kyrgyzstan government is said to fully support in-country English language training, and aims to improve competency at a national level in three languages: Kyrgyz, Russian and English. By 2022, it has pledged that 90 per cent of secondary school leavers will graduate with CEFR B2 level in their non-active language.
BSC Kyrgyzstan is located in the city centre and occupies the whole ground floor of a detached building, said the school in a statement. There is also an official Oxford University Press Bookshop on the premises.
BSC Kyrgyzstan welcomed Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Altynay Omurbekova (far left), to open the school.
Steve Phillips, BSC Group Managing Director, said, “Transnational Education is a great and vital part of what we do at BSC. The team works so hard to ensure our standards across the world are met and BSC Kyrgyzstan is a perfect example of this. It offers the same high quality experience and qualified teachers as our UK centres and we are delighted they are now part of BSC Group.”
Owner of BSC Kyrgyzstan, Ryskul Ashymkanova, said, “We are very excited to be able to offer high quality BSC programmes locally. We are committed to providing the very best for our students and this is a great opportunity for them."
In a statement, BSC said it had already successfully delivered the Cambridge CELTA course to a group of students this summer and going forward planned to work closely with the Ministry of Education on teacher training programmes, delivery of international foundation year and junior summer camps.
Last year, British Study Centres established overseas franchise schools in Algeria and Ukraine.
