OET Exam Preparation Course now Online

BSC is now giving healthcare professionals the opportunity to prepare for the OET (Occupational English Test) online. The same high-quality course content that is delivered in our schools is now accessible from home.

Our highly trained teachers use the latest computer software to deliver lessons via live tutorials. The one-week, intensive course will help healthcare workers with the specific skills needed to pass the OET exam. Every lesson includes skills practice and exam practice to help students build the necessary skills needed to pass the test. Plus, these skills are immediately transferable to the workplace, so are a huge benefit to those wishing to further their career.

Students can be assured that the online course will correctly prepare them for the OET test as the lessons were designed in-house by BSC and approved by OET on completion of the Preparation Provider Programme. The course covers all parts of the exam paper in each of the four subskills and meets the growing demand for remote learning while maintaining the required standards of teaching excellence.

OET is a great addition to any healthcare worker's CV, as it is recognised by leading medical organisations in the UK and Ireland as a way to accurately assess the medical English skills of potential healthcare employees. And now there's the added bonus of being able to study from home, but you can still study the face-to-face OET course at BSC Manchester.

BSC's course materials have been endorsed by OET for the following medical professions:

  • Medicine
  • Nursing
  • Physiotherapy
  • Dentistry
  • Veterinary Science

The OET is part of BSC's Career Training Courses, a range of programmes designed to help further the careers of workers who need to keep up-to-date with progress in the modern workplace. OET is an English language test designed specifically for healthcare professionals, but it is not a test of medical knowledge. The precise purpose of the test is to assess the level of understanding of English in a workplace context by healthcare workers. They will then be able to use these language skills when working in countries across the globe, including Australia, Dubai, New Zealand, the UK and Ireland.

The OET test has four parts: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. Each part of the test assesses candidates understanding of English in a professional healthcare context. The speaking and writing sub-tests are specific to a profession, such as dentistry, and are based on real-life work place situations.
