We offer a wide range of TEFL courses catering to the needs of UK and international teachers. With a variety of study locations, as well as in-country and online options, we are sure to have a solution that meets your ambitions.
Teacher Training candidates should be 18 or over by the start of course. Applicants should have a good standard of education (e.g. UK university entrance level) and written and spoken English. For non-native speakers, the recommended English level is C2 or high C1 on the CEFR.
Once you complete the application form, places are then allocated on the basis of individual interviews. If you don't live near the school, we can arrange Skype interviews.
Candidates should allow up to one hour for the interview. You will be given some language awareness tasks to assess your ability to analyse language. We will also give you some tasks to take home and complete so that you are fully prepared for the start of the course.
Once you have been accepted on the course, you will need to pay a deposit to secure your place. We ask that you pay the balance of the course fees a minimum of 4 weeks before the start of the course unless you are a late applicant.
Assessment is made on a continuous basis with emphasis on teaching appropriate lessons effectively. Final grades are in negotiation with an external assessor from Cambridge English.
Our tutors give a Professional Development session that gives advice and suggestions to those looking for their job as language teachers, both in the UK and internationally. Sessions can include ideas for finding suitable jobs, CV advice and applying for work abroad.
