Isabel’s University Pathways Experience

Isabel came to study the International Foundation Year at BSC London in January 2020. We caught up with her to find out how the course helped her reach her goals of studying in the UK.

What course did you study?
I did the foundation year in Humanities and had classes of English, Business, Economics and International Relations. I already applied to universities as well which is so exciting.

What do you like about studying with BSC?
I like that the classes are really fun. It's like you’re learning but at the same time, you’re having a good time! You meet really nice people, the teachers are really really nice and everything is just so easy. London is an amazing city and the people that you meet that work here are really nice so that’s amazing.

What do you learn in class and how does it prepare you for university?
The class that we had the most is English. It basically teaches you how to do all the work we will need to do for university. It’s a class where, even though we work a lot, we are all the time discussing "why do you think that" so I think that’s amazing. In International Relations nowadays we learn about the relationship between countries so it's great to have the chance to study this topic with students from around the world.

Would you recommend BSC?
Yes, a lot! Everything and all the process to get here was so easy and the people have been really nice. Natalie is all the time asking you how you’re doing and if you need help, how can we help you. The people at Student Services are also really nice and are always there to help you, for example, get you a student card for discounts.

Is there anything else you’d like to tell us?

It’s amazing to come here in London because it gives you the opportunity to see if you really want to move out of your country. If you really want to come to the UK to do your whole university studies here then I think doing it in London means helps you make the decision. At the same time you’re having a great time you are in a great city with great people and I think that’s amazing.

After completing her International Foundation Year, Isabel received an offer to study BA English with Creative Writing at Brunel University London.
