Unmissable Events in Dublin This Summer

Spending the summer months in Dublin? From music festivals, to traditional Irish sport and dance, you might find that there’s so much going that there’s too much to choose! Luckily, we’re here to help.  We asked the staff at BSC Dublin what events not to miss this summer in Dublin.

1. Beatyard Festival

With boat parties, bands, food trucks and so much more, Beatyard is an unmissable festival just an hour outside of Dublin city centre. With tickets starting from as little as €59, this festival is both affordable and a lot of fun. 

2. The Big Grill Festival

When? 15th-18th August

For lovers of beer and BBQ, the Big Grill festival offers the perfect day out. Just 30 minutes from our Dublin English school by bus, this festival is the perfect place to try and incredible range of international cuisine and relax on a summer evening. 

3. Love Sensation Festival

When? 17th & 18th August

Aimed at the LGBT community but with performers that everyone will love, Love Sensation is a pop music and drag festival taking place at Royal Hospital Kilmainham.  This year’s headliners include Lily Allen, Kelis and Clean Bandit. 

4. Foo Fighters at the RDS Arena

Fans of punk and classic rock will be happy to hear that the one and only Foo Fighters will be performing in Dublin on the 21st of August! Get your tickets before they sell out.

Post Malone, the American rapper behind the hit song ‘Sunflower,’ will be performing at Dublin’s RDS Arena on the 22nd August. Tickets are selling fast so if you’re a big fan make sure you don’t delay before you get yours!

6. The Wine and Cheese Festival 

When? 8th-11th August

Set in the picturesque Iveagh Gardens, the Wine and Cheese Festival is the perfect opportunity to sample local wine and cheese. With food challenges, music and award-winning vendors you’ll be entertained as well as well fed at this delicious festival. 

7. Traditional Irish Sport at Croke Park 

When? Several dates until September

If you want to experience something uniquely Irish, head to Croke Park, the 3rd largest stadium in Europe, to watch some traditional Irish sport. Hosting both Gaelic Football and hurling, Croke Park has a great range of matches and events for you to catch all the way up until September.
