The third week of the January Internship has begun at English Language Centre York after a successful first two weeks! The Internship is offered to CELTA graduates who have recently completed their CELTA course at English Language Centre York.
This group of Interns is made up of CELTA graduates from the last course, which finished just before Christmas, and a few from courses earlier in the year.
They have been busy producing useful resources based on learner difficulties and have chosen specific nationalities to research, including Russian, Korean and Portuguese. These resources will then be added to the resource bank produced by previous interns, which have already been used by teachers.
The Internship also includes teaching afternoon classes and so the interns have been teaching classes of students who they first taught during their CELTA course. The students have enjoyed seeing familiar teachers and continuing with their lessons.
Here’s what our previous interns have to say about their experience:
“The internship was highly beneficial and enjoyable, so thank you for the opportunity to take part. I appreciate all your help.” Leo
“The internship was a brilliant opportunity – it was great to work with you, and a privilege to teach such a great group of students.” Chloe
“I really enjoyed the Internship experience so thank you for making it happen.” Mandy
“I certainly found it a useful experience and it was good to see some familiar faces from January – students, staff and interns.” Amanda
