How to Pass the CELTA Course: A Guide from our London CELTA Graduate

Miranda passed the CELTA course in London earlier this year at our London-based school, Hampstead School of English. After the course she sent us some wonderful feedback, as well as excellent advice for future CELTA students!

“Thank you so much again for all your advice and support during the course. I absolutely loved the experience of doing CELTA, and I’ve recommended it to a lot of my friends!”

Here are her top tips for how to pass the CELTA course:

1. Get at least one good course book and do some pre-reading before the course begins.

2. Be organised – have a file and some dividers to keep all your sheets organised, so you can find things when you need them.

3. Give yourself enough time for lesson planning, don’t leave it to the last minute…if you don’t feel prepared it just adds unnecessary stress! Being prepared will give you confidence for the actual lessons too.

4. Create some form of contact group with your colleagues so you can share advice and ideas.

The overall feeling: intense yet worth it!
