Trip to Portsmouth and Isle of Wight

The exciting spring activities in BSC Oxford have already started! Last Sunday, on a beautiful sunny day, BSC Oxford students had a chance to visit the beautiful and historical coastal city of Portsmouth, home of the Royal Navy for 500 years, and where impressive new structures like the Spinnaker tower have been built nowadays.

Journeying directly south from Oxford there are a number of fantastic seaside towns and cities such as Portsmouth, Southampton and Bournemouth. Portsmouth alone is a great experience, but even more so when the ferry is taken to cross to the scenic island, the Isle of Wight.

There, the students walked around a lovely typical island scene of old thatched cottages and tea shops and spent a fascinating time in the Model Village, an exact miniature replica of the island!

After taking very funny pictures, it was time to go travel along the South Coast with impressive views of the chalk cliffs and estuary at Alum Bay, with the most famous landmark, The Needles, where we could gaze at one of the most incredible sunsets in all England!

It was an unforgettable day in a spectacular place, topped off by the good mood and the extraordinary energy from the BSC Oxford family! Are you coming to the next one?
