The School at a Glance
Celebrating 25 years of teaching in 2016, BSC Manchester (formerly known as Manchester Academy of English) is the longest-established private English language school in the city, as well as being the only Eaquals-accredited school in Manchester.
Located in a beautiful Victorian building, the school combines old and new, with interactive projectors in several classrooms and a large student lounge with plasma screen TV. Other facilities include:
Vending machines serving hot and cold drinks
Table football and Xbox and table tennis
We have a wealth of experience teaching English and our staff have lived, worked and taught in many countries across the world. With a great mix of new and long-standing team members, we offer excellent academic and pastoral support for our students, who will be well looked after throughout their stay.
Liberty Point student apartments are located within 10 minutes of the school by foot, with 6 students per apartment and fully-equipped kitchens.
If staying with a homestay, we always try to meet students' requests, and our hosts are often located in the popular residential areas of Prestwich, Middleton, Alkrington and South Manchester, with easy public transport links to the school.
M.A.R.S.A is our student house, available exclusively to our students. It is a well-maintained house with a dedicated housekeeper and fully-equipped kitchen as well as laundry facilities and a living room with a large flat screen TV.

My speaking is now better than before, I practised a lot of speaking when I was with my host family. I made many new friends and together we had many funny and happy moments.
This is the best place to learn English in Manchester. The teachers are so kind and helpful. I came to the Academy in 2014, and I am here again!

I've spent the same amount of time at English Language Centre York as I have at Manchester Academy of English. The possibility of transferring from one city to another is one of the most charming merits of this group of schools.

Learning English at Manchester Academy of English has been the most interesting experience of my life. The teachers are very helpful and the classes are enjoyable.
I like Manchester Academy of English for many reasons. The classes are small so we talk a lot with each other. I would recommend Manchester Academy of English to anyone at any level, because they teach in many different ways.
Conversation Club is great because you can meet new friends, it is one of my favourite events of the week.
