Language & Methodology for Primary Teachers
Course Contents
Intensive two-week course for primary school teachers, including 15 lessons of methodology, 5 lessons of Speaking & Listening, 7 lessons of project work, classroom observation and cultural visits.
The content of each course will vary according to the particular needs, teaching context and interests of the group, however there are standard components that are taught throughout the course. These are:
- ELT Methodology
- Language Analysis
- Language Input
- A visit to a UK Primary School (not July/August)
- Lesson observations of qualified and experienced teachers
- Projects and research followed by presentations
The course enables participants to:
- Gain confidence in using the English Language
- Reflect critically on current language teaching methodology
- Share ideas and develop as teachers
- Extend their awareness of the principles and practice of teaching young learners
- To evaluate and explore materials and resources for younger learners
Methodology
Each session employs current language teaching methodology to reflect participants' classroom practice. Each session contains language instruction and pedagogic practice. Participants work with all four skills with particular emphasis on speaking and listening.
