How Does It Work?
Our online courses consist of two main components – live online lessons during which you interact with your teacher and fellow students, and guided self-study delivered via our e-learning platform, BSC Online. In addition, you can book private online lessons to focus on your personal learning needs. At the end of the course you will receive a BSC certificate and progress report.
Online Lessons
Lessons are delivered via a powerful video conferencing platform Adobe® Connect™. All you need is a compatible computer or mobile device with Internet connection. You don't have to download any software – we will just send you a link which takes you directly to the online classroom. Online lessons are held every week at a specified time with a maximum of 4 students in each class.
BSC Online
In addition to the live online lessons with our teachers, you will receive access to BSC Online, our online learning platform with a wide range of additional study material. Here you will be able to continue studying at your own speed in your free time. Your teacher will also set homework through the system and will be able to monitor your progress.
Course Contents
Live online lessons include discussions and interactive exercises and make the most of rich media such as images, audio and video. Courses are based on a prescribed cyclical syllabus, but with flexibility to tailor the lessons to the students' individual levels and needs. Your teacher will ensure that your personal language needs are taken into account by giving individual speaking practice and checking your written work. General English »
General English lessons will help identify your strengths and weaknesses and improve the skills necessary for successful English language proficiency.
Using authentic English material such as magazines, newspapers, the radio, TV, websites, this course will help you to build skills to communicate with English speakers better.
We will focus on your communication skills with a lot of time spent on speaking skills and pronunciation, supported by work on your grammar and vocabulary. There will also be listening, reading and writing tasks to support your progress.
Business English »
Business English lessons focus on widening your knowledge of specific vocabulary in a work context and business situations.
The emphasis is on practical business communication skills such as telephoning, emailing, taking part in meetings, presenting, negotiating and socialising with a lot of time spent on speaking skills and pronunciation, supported by work on your grammar and business vocabulary. Using authentic Business English material such as emails, reports, presentations and video recordings, this course will help you to build a range of Business English skills.
There will be listening, reading and writing tasks to support you in being able to use English confidently in the workplace. Emphasis is placed on communication tasks which give you the opportunity to practise fluency and build confidence in business situations.
Exam Preparation »
Exam preparation lessons will help you learn new exam techniques in order to improve your IELTS, FCE, CAE, TOEFL or TOEIC exam results.
Using authentic exam preparation materials including past papers, listening samples, videos of example speaking examinations and example writing answers, this course will help you to build your confidence to pass your chosen exam.
The emphasis of this course is on understanding the structure of the exam and how to get the best grade possible for your language level. Time is spent improving your language skills appropriate to the exam – speaking, listening, reading and writing and by working on your language systems: grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation.

Course type: General English, Business English or exam preparation (IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC, Cambridge FCE/CAE).
Lesson type: private one-to-one lessons or groups of up to 4 students.
Number of lessons: 5 or 10.

You can reserve your place and pay online here: www.british-study.com/booking. We accept Visa, Visa Electron, Visa Debit/Delta, MasterCard and PayPal payments.
If you intend to study at one of our schools and wish to book a pre-arrival online course, select the 'Adult (16+ years)' option where you'll be able to book the online course as an add-on. 5-lesson online courses are available up to 1 week before your arrival in the UK and 10-lesson options up to 2 weeks before arrival.
If you wish to book only the online course, please select the 'Online Lessons (18+ years)' option.
