One group from Armenia decided to have a pre-departure party in their school and even baked an orange BSC cake - superb!

Students from 40 different nations will be with us on the junior courses this summer experiencing the excellent school facilities and combining a programme of English, activities and excursions. We hope the nice weather continues and we look forward to welcoming all our young learners!

LTM Awards

Double Nomination for BSC in LTM Awards!

British Study Centres has today been shortlisted for two awards in the prestigious 2010 Language Travel Magazine awards! The first nomination is for 'LTM Star English Language School Europe 2010' and the second is for 'LTM Star Junior Provider 2010'. It is the second successive year that British Study Centres has been nominated in the awards.

The LTM awards are the language travel industry's showpiece event, regarded as the 'Oscars' of the industry, and are voted for by language travel agents throughout the world. The awards are highly coveted with over 900 accredited schools in the running for the 5 shortlisted places.

'It is an unbelievable honour for us to be nominated for these awards,' said an ecstatic Andrew Roper, Managing Director of British Study Centres, on hearing of the nominations. 'To be nominated for the second year running in the adult school category is just incredible, there are so many excellent English language schools in the UK, Ireland and Malta, it's truly humbling to be voted for by your industry colleagues and peers. And we are over the moon to be shortlisted in the junior category as well.

This is the first year LTM has included junior programmes in the awards so it's just fantastic to be included there, too. I would like to thank all the agents who voted for us. It's a wonderful recognition for our staff who work so hard to provide high quality teaching and services to our clients. Fingers crossed we can bring back the trophy!'

Keeping Fit And Supporting Charity - Oxford Fun Run

BSC recently did their bit to raise money for charity by participating in the Oxford Fun Run around University Parks. In 2009 over £18,000 was raised for the following local charities - Pathway Workshop, Headway, Age Concern, New Life, Response, Footsteps, Mind, Pegasus Theatre, Wesley Memorial, Cystic Fibrosis, Motor Neurone, Stroke Assoc, Nepalese Children’s Home and Parkinson’s Society, and we hope by joining in this year, we can make 2010's total even higher. The BSC team, composed of teachers and students, didn't win any medals but they all managed to finish the race and a good time was had by all! See you next year!
