Authorised BULATS Agent

BSC London Is a Registered BULATS Test Centre

British Study Centres in London has now become an official agent and test centre for students who wish to take the BULATS (Business Language Testing Service) exam. The BULATS exam is an online exam involving reading, use of English, and listening, and is a very useful exam for students who wish to extend their visa and need to show proof of having taken an exam.

An online, adaptive test that is QCA (Qualifications and Curriculum Authority) approved; results for reading, use of English, and listening are issued immediately with the candidates getting a Cambridge test report detailing their CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference) level from A1 to C2 and a breakdown of their performance.

Students can take the exam at any time at the school, using the school's computer facilities, and will receive an instant result and certificate. The whole process takes no more than a couple of hours.

The school also has the full range of study materials and students can enrol on one-to-one exam preparation courses to ensure they get the best possible result.

The demand for this exam is going to dramatically increase as students become aware of just how useful an exam it is. Please contact us for more details.

Teachers & Students Celebrating 100% FCE Exam Success

Cambridge FCE Exam 100% Success Celebrations

Congratulations are in order for the recent FCE class who attained…wait for it…a 100% pass rate. Two As, Three Bs and one C! An amazing result guys you should all be very proud.

I remember at the begining of the course some of you were quite worried about whether you would pass or not, but after a few weeks, and a lot of hard work, you began to worry not about whether you would pass but what grade you would achieve.

Both Rachel and I really enjoyed teaching you and seeing you develop from a class of 6 individuals into a team who supported each other, before and during the exam (a bit naughty of you!)

Anyway, check out the picture of the teachers and students celebrating the best results for a single class to date in traditional English/BSC style!

Summer Business Certificate Students at the BMW Mini Plant

Summer Business Course

In July and August this year we are once again running our popular Summer Business Certificate course in London and Oxford. The course attracts university students and young professionals from a wide variety of backgrounds and countries. The course covers the fundamentals of business and includes visits to local businesses. Last year Oxford students visited the super modern BMW Mini manufacturing plant in Cowley which produces 500,000 cars every year!

Our Oxford centre offers small classes and a very friendly personal approach. What's more, Oxford is a superb city and easy to get around which is ideal if you are staying for a few weeks. We offer a varied and exicting social programme.

For more information on both the Oxford and London programmes, please visit our Summer Business section.

Our New Junior Summer Vacation Centre, Cheltenham College

New Summer Centre - Cheltenham College

We are delighted to be offering a new residential centre this summer at Cheltenham College in Gloucestershire. Young learners aged 10-16 can enrol on 2 or 3 week courses in General and Intensive English with options in horse riding and golf.

'Cheltenham is an ideal base for a summer centre,' explains Matt Simmonite, director of Junior Vacation Courses. 'The town is beautiful and is close to neighbouring places such as Bath, Stratford-upon-Avon and Oxford which are great for a day out.'

The College itself has very impressive sporting and leisure facilities, offering young learners more than enough to keep them occupied until well into the evening!

Brighton Vegetable Garden

Brighton Goes Wild!

Students and staff at British Study Centres Brighton are enjoying the fruits of labour of the school's newly-formed Gardening Club. Thanks to the group's hard work, led by Academic Director, Christian Tiplady, the garden is producing a wonderful harvest of fresh produce including herbs, lettuce, spinach, raddishes and runner beans.

'It's fantastic to be able to grow our own fresh vegetables in the school's garden,' commented Christian, 'and to eat them freshly-picked in the school café.' The Gardening Club meets every Friday. Why not come and get your hands dirty with us?
