Meet our students
We believe the best reflection of our school is how our students feel. We are happy and successful only when they are happy and successful. Below are some of our past students' testimonials.
Cristina - Spain
Hello! My name is Cristina. I'm 26 years old and I'm from Barcelona. I'm very satisfied to be in this school. I wanted to improve my English because in Spain I work in a business company and I thought it would be a great idea for my work and, of course, personal experience for me! I have been in London for two months, but really now I want to stay more!!!
The atmosphere in the school is fantastic. The classes have all kinds of activities where I can participate to speak and listen to English and also it is an opportunity to meet people from all around the world. The people are very nice, and also you can share with the students and teachers other activities like to go to museums, pubs, parks, to discover the amazing life of London city.
Vicente - Brazil
Hello everybody, I'm Vicente from Brazil. I've studied at the British Study Centre for two months. I can tell you that I really improved my English and enjoyed my stay.
The teachers... I didn't meet all of them, but the ones I did I really recommend... The classes can be very funny, even though all the teachers work hard to make you learn something. The staff are really helpful... well, when I needed to change my accommodation, and I asked about it, they did help me! The same happened when I travelled to France.
Special Thanks to Roman and James for that and Eva for the accommodation change... anyway... I hope that you, new student, enjoy a lot your stay and please absorb everything they teach you, don't waste your trip away (and book some travels around Europe, if you're from far away, like me). And I can not forget that I met lots of people, from everywhere, and some of them still talk to me sometimes.
Cheers!
Shih-Chia - Taiwan
Hello!! My name is Shih-Chia Huang, I studied at here for three weeks. I very like my school, I am the only Taiwanese student at school. I like the course that each class just have less than fifteen students, we have lots of time to discuss in a group and share our life or experience. My classmates come from different countries, and you can know all kind of people to interflow each other. Our teacher use a vivid way to have a class, it’s very different with all the courses I had in Taiwan. Here have lots of administrative staff will help us to deal all the questions you have in UK that we don't need to worry about it.
I also like the location of school, it's perfect place, it near high street, Bond street and Oxford street that just walk ten minutes from Bond street or Baker street station; the traffic is very convenient for me to go to school. There is a coffee shop on the basement I don’t need to worry about my lunch. At here, I should just speak in English to other one so I am not fear to speak in English with a foreigner right now, besides I learn more and try to express myself. If I can choose again, I think I would still choose to study here.
Christelle - Switzerland
My name is Christelle and I've been in this school for 4 months. I have really improved my English during my lessons and by speaking with other students from all over the world. This trip has given me opportunities to meet people from different countries, to discover their cultures and now I have a desire to visit these friends in the future. All of the teachers and the Student Services team are very kind and helpful. They always take time to answer your questions and always smile, even if they are dealing with a stressful situation. I have enjoyed a very good relationship with all of them and I have showed my appreciation by regularly making them cakes, which is a hobby of mine. I have really enjoyed my time in this school.
Audrey - France
I frequented the BSC of London for almost 4 months (from September to December 2005) and it was a really positive, rewarding and unforgettable experience.
First, I found a modern, welcoming and warm school provided with everything for pleasant studies: experienced teachers and staff, small classrooms, library, computers area, cafeteria...and smoking area!!
When I met the staff, I was delighted. We were kindly welcomed by Kath and Eva and then we were explained everything about studies by Steve and James. I remember having been very surprised to realize I was able to understand all what they told us even if it was the first day at school and the second day in London!! Obviously, they're used to speak to foreign students!!
Well, I felt at once very comfortable and looked forward to start learning...and I was not going to be disappointed.
If courses were so pleasant, it's due to wonderful teachers.
Philip is able to make us understand unknown words with sequences of synonyms. My vocabulary is indisputably richer than before! He's also the best to make us learn vocabulary, using it again and again, sometimes by the way of games. I've kept a very good memory of Nick. At the beginning, it was not so easy for me to "understand" his "posh" accent but it was a good training to improve my listening and finally I got used to it... His courses were a plain and simple happiness, thanks to his sense of humour and smiling!
I enjoyed time spent with Ann (who trained us for the FCE exam) and Nicky too. I realize how much I've learnt with everyone at school. To my mind, courses were too short and I really enjoyed studying. It was not work but pleasure.
If it had been possible, I would have stayed much more time but then I took and passed the FCE exam and had an intership in the Courtauld Institute (thank you, Kath!!). The work was very interesting, the environment so nice and the staff were so welcoming. I've learnt a lot with all of them. I worked with them for 2 months and the last day they organised a "party" for me, with coffee, tea and cakes: I was so touched and couldn't believe it.
My London stay and my experience in BSC of London are more than positive. I've learnt a lot about English language: I feel much more comfortable with it now. I've improved my speaking, my listening ... everything in fact!
I enjoyed the London life too, there's so much to do and to see there (free museums, markets, clean and secured tube, pubs...) and I met people from everywhere in the world with whom I'm still in touch. I still get news from Yuko (Japan), Amelie (Germany), Anne-Kathrin (Switzerland), Amir (who is still in London) and Victor (the famous Victor from Paris!). Of course, I look forward to see them very soon.
If I had found a job when I was in London, I would have stayed there but unfortunately I didn't have any opportunity. For the moment, I still live in France (but I moved from South to North, it's to say from sun to rain !!) and I've found a job in Belgium. This job is very interesting and it's a really good experience because I have to speak English every day. The company works with Europe and world. So I will be ready when I will be back to London. I hope it will be soon and I think about the future in this way.
Hirotaka - Japan
I studied at British Study Centres for 1 year. I was worried about living in London because I hadn't spoken and listened to English much before. I wished I had studied English more before coming to London. For this reason, I always tried to make friends inside and outside of school to have a chance to speak English as much as possible. I had lots of opportunities to go to pubs and clubs. I made good friends and went to parties and played football with them.
As a result my English is improving everyday and I really enjoyed my life in London. I have great memories of my stay in London.
Laurence - France
Hi! My name is Laurence, I'm 18 years old and I come from France. I have been here for two weeks.
The school is very modern and situated in the centre of London. So when I have time, I can visited easily the surroundings.
The teachers are very nice and welcoming and we can speak a lot with them in order to improve our English. A social programme is organised, so we can spend time with them. So, I was really satisfied!
What our staff say...
"I have lots of responsibilities in my job but the most important one is to ensure all the students that come to London have the best possible experience." - James, School Director, in London
Isabell - Germany
Hello! My name is Isabell. I'm 22 years old and I'm from Germany. I'm training to become a primary school teacher at the University of Pedagogy. My main subjects are German and English. During my holidays I wanted to improve my language skills, that's why I'm staying here in London for 4 weeks. I like it a lot. There are so many attractions you can visit. For example the Tate Gallery with a lot of famous paintings or a nice musical at Leicester square...the possibilities are unlimited.
Our language school is in the centre of London, it's very nice there. I attend an upper intermediate class and the teachers are very professional. The classrooms and school facilities are great!
Ikuko Inuzuka - Japan
Hello! My name is Ikuko Inuzuka, I'm from Japan. I have been staying in London for four months and my flat here is in centre of London.
This area is wonderful! I can go to famous sights easily and a lot of green, beautiful places, many shopping spots!!
For almost one month I was looking for good English language school for me. I wanted high quality class, clean, quiet school small classes, good text books (not papers) and very good teachers.
At last I found this school, now I am really enjoying to study.
Vinny Dutra - Brazil
Hello, I'm Vinny from Brazil. For sure I can say that this school is by far one of the best that I've been to. Nice atmosphere, great facilities, really good teachers and the best of it, people from all over the world. I guess an English school is not just about learning English, but meeting new people who come from different cultures and have different backgrounds. You can do that in BSC for sure!
London is quite a big city, so if you feel a little bit lost in the beginning, the school provides you a social free-time activities witch can be really fun and helpful getting you around town. Besides that, BSC is situated in the center of London, so if you take a bus or the Underground you can go anywhere in 15 minutes.
