Teaching Quality

Buddy System

We operate a buddy system. Each staff member is directly responsible for the welfare and happiness of their buddy group. This includes constantly checking on students’ welfare, (especially the younger students, to ensure they are eating properly, looking after personal hygiene, and keeping their rooms tidy) and accounting for students at roll call and during fire alarms. The buddy system works particularly well for individual students who do not have a visiting group leader at the college.

Our students are supervised closely throughout the day. There is a staff-to-student ratio of at least 1:15 on site at the college and 1:8 off site during the trips and excursions.
