Steve Borg-Wheeler, Course Director
The ICH students have mixed well with international students from other courses running simultaneously at the College, and have integrated with students of many different nationalities for full school activities and in preparing for team competitions and performances. They have enjoyed plenty of opportunities to use the first class sporting facilities at the College and have become very popular with the helpful and friendly main school staff, with whom they have been encouraged to practise their English. As well as being a classic location, Ardingly College is a friendly and welcoming environment for foreign students to develop their language skills, meet new people and have fun whilst getting involved in a wide variety of sports, activities, projects and arts events as part of their course.
Andrew Ansell, EFL Teacher
I completed my CELTA course at BSC in Oxford and this is my first teaching post on the Junior Course at Ardingly College. BSC/ICH has provided a wide variety of excellent materials to use for my lessons which have enabled me to give stimulating lessons. The students are from a several different countries which mean that they have all had to use English as their common language in class. The pupils are enthusiastic, fun and well-behaved and with the emphasis being on communicative learning, they have progressed quickly in the short time that they have been here and built up their confidence to be able to use the language that they are learning in the practical situations that they face.
Emily Richards, EFL Teacher
This being my first experience teaching young learners on a course of this nature, I've been really impressed not only by the way the academic side of things is run, but also the huge range of activities available for students who come here. Not only do they have the chance to participate in activities and games in the beautiful grounds of Ardingly College, they also get the chance to visit local places of historical importance. This is the best part of the activities programme for me, as the students really enjoy going on such a wide variety of excursions like the Thames River Cruise, London sightseeing, to Windsor Castle and Royal Tunbridge Wells, which have been thoroughly entertaining and educational for both the students and staff.
