Insurance

Before arrival, it is mandatory that students take out insurance for their own financial and personal security. You can take out your own insurance or an insurance policy offered by one of our recommended providers – Endsleigh Insurance Services Limited.

Please note that full payment must be received before departure for insurance to be valid.

At the airports, all BSC staff wear a uniform and carry large BSC signs.

All airport arrivals and departures between 06:00-21:00. There will be a £50 charge for students arriving or departing outside those times.

At busy times students may be grouped together. When several students arrive at the same time we also use larger vehicles, always with a British Study Centres member of staff being present upon arrival and departure.

Exact flight information must be provided at least 20 days prior to your arrival. Transfer fees will not be refunded if you fail to inform the school of any changes in your itinerary or if you miss your connections.

Unaccompanied Minors

For students travelling as an unaccompanied minor (UM) with airlines, there will be a charge of £50. This will ensure there is a named person to meet and greet and sign for UM students. Upon departure all UMs will be handed to the relevant airline staff after check in and, in most cases, the BSC named person will wait with the student until airline staff takes him/her to the aircraft.

Booking Conditions

Conditions of Enrolment

All fees must be paid in full at the time of booking. All bank and PayPal charges must be paid by the students. If payment in full has not been received, you will not be allowed to start your course.

When the total amount has been paid, British Study Centres will send a confirmation of booking, invoice and payment receipt together with an information pack relating to the course. The pack will contain vital information concerning what to bring, airport transfer details and pocket money information.

Travel

All student arrival & departure details must be communicated to us no later than 20 days before the start of the course. Any changes after this time, will incur an admin charge of £15.

Transfer fees will not be refunded if you fail to inform the school of any changes in your itinerary or if you miss your connections.

Participants will be invoiced for any additional costs incurred to a prolonged length of stay.

Amendment Charges

An administration fee of £25 will apply for students wishing to change their course in any way.

Cancellation

If a booking is cancelled, we must be notified in writing. All cancellations will be acknowledged in writing and incur the following charges:

  • 30 days before course begins - 50% of total fee
  • 14 days before course begins - 100% of total fee
  • Once the course commences, no refunds are given

Acceptance Conditions

We accept students on the assumption that they are of sound health. It is mandatory that students have accident and health insurance. Students are responsible for any medical expenses incurred.

Injury/Loss

We do not accept responsibility for personal injury or for loss or damage to personal property unless it is due to the negligence of BSC or its employees. Any valuables should be left at home.

Behaviour

The admission of a student is conditional on acceptance of these Terms & Conditions and of the rules published by our venue. While every effort will be made to contact parents or guardians regarding serious breaches of centre rules, the Course Director may at his/her discretion impose sanctions, including suspension or expulsion. We reserve the right to dismiss any student whose standard of conduct is unsatisfactory at the discretion of the Course Director. There will be no refund of fees in cases of expulsion.

Damage

All students are liable for loss or damage for which they are responsible and will have to pay the full cost of replacement. Therefore, we shall take a deposit of £30 returnable at the end of the course provided there has been no damage to centre property.

Promotional Photography

Sometimes BSC or our representatives take photographs and videos during our courses or social activities which may be used for promotional purposes. Please advise at the time of booking if you do not wish to appear in any promotional material.

Health & Safety

We operate a rigorous Health & Safety policy. Staff undergo a period of training and orientation prior to students arriving at each centre. All the relevant student : teacher ratios are adhered to as set out by the Children's Act and relevant governing bodies of language travel courses such as English UK.

Medical

Proof of travel health insurance is required and mandatory. Each centre has a fully-qualified first aider on site. In addition all centres have excellent links with local accident & emergency facilities.

Food

Our centres provide tasty nutritious meals with a choice of hot or cold food. All dietary requirements are also catered for at each centre.

Disclaimer

All information provided by BSC is the responsibility of British Study Centres School of English. We reserve the right to alter any particulars such as fees at the discretion of the company. We reserve the right to cancel any course or close any centre for whatever reason. Should this be necessary, we shall offer either a full refund or an alternative course for the same value.

Force Majeure

In the event of 'force majeure' such as fire, flooding, infectious diseases and other events outside the company's reasonable control which may cause the closure of the school, no refund of fees will be made to students, except at the school's discretion in exceptional circumstances.
