Course Information
- Minimum duration of stay: 1 week at Easter, 2 weeks in summer
- Age range: Ardingly College 10-15 years, Cheltenham College 12-17 years, LVS Ascot 12-17 years
- Class size: 15 students maximum
- Each group lesson lasts the equivalent of 60 minutes
- Course levels, General English: false Beginner to Advanced
Sport Options Information
General English plus sports programmes include:
- 6 hours per week of coaching (tennis, watersports, golf, horse riding)
- Use of facilities and equipment

- Accommodation option of your choice: full-board residential or full-board homestay (Cheltenham College only)
- Action-packed activity programme 7 days a week: fully supervised activities every afternoon and evening
- 2 excursions per week: 1 full day excursion (Sunday) & 1 half day excursion (Wednesday)

We will then send a confirmation of booking and an invoice for the total amount owing, to be payable within 30 days before the start date of the course. All fees must be paid in full before your course starts. If payment in full has not been received, you will not be allowed to start your course. When the final amount has been paid, we will send a receipt together with an information pack relating to the course. The pack will contain vital information concerning what to bring, airport transfer details and pocket money information. All student arrival & departure details must be communicated to us no later than 14 days before the start of the course.
Insurance
Before you arrive in the UK, we strongly recommend that you take out insurance for your own financial and personal security.
Our partner Endsleigh Insurance Services Ltd offers invaluable cover for international students studying in the UK. Short stay up to 6 months or long stay study periods of up to a maximum of 12 months can be covered. Please use this link if you would like to take out the insurance.
Cover includes:
- Cancelling, cutting short or repeating your course due to accident, illness or sickness, we will reimburse your prepaid course fees
- The cost of bringing a relative to the UK to visit you following a medical emergency
- If you are taken ill or have an accident we will pay your medical costs which are not covered by the National Health Service
- If you accidentally injure someone, or damage their property we will cover your legal liability to pay damages
Please enquire for full policy details. Full payment must be received before departure for insurance to be valid.

All prices are return transfers per person. At the airports, all BSC/ICH staff wear a uniform and carry large BSC signs.

Booking Conditions
Travel
All travel details must be finalised at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the course. Any changes after this time, will incur an administration charge of £15.
Conditions
Conditions All course places will be confirmed when either the deposit or full fees have been received. Payment of the deposit fee is regarded as acceptance of the booking terms & conditions and is non-refundable.
Amendment Charges
An administration fee of £25 will apply for students wishing to change their course in any way.
Cancellation
If a booking is cancelled, we must be notified in writing. All cancellations will be acknowledged in writing and incur the following charges:
- 30 days before course begins 50% of course fee
- 14 days before course begins 100% of course fee
- Once the course has commenced, no refunds will be given.
Acceptance Conditions
We accept students on the assumption that they are of sound health.
Injury/Loss
We do not accept responsibility for personal injury or for loss or damage to personal property unless it is due to the negligence of BSC/ICH or its employees. Any valuables should be left at home. We do not accept responsibility for events outside the control of the company such as strikes, bad weather, war, transportation delays, sickness or quarantine.
Behaviour
The admission of a student is conditional on acceptance of these terms & conditions and of the rules published by our venue. While every effort will be made to contact parents or guardians regarding serious breaches of centre rules, the Course Director may at his/her discretion impose sanctions, including suspension or expulsion. We reserve the right to dismiss any student whose standard of conduct is unsatisfactory at the discretion of the Course Director. There will be no refund of fees in cases of expulsion.
Damage
All students are liable for loss or damage for which they are responsible and will have to pay the full cost of replacement. Therefore, we shall take a deposit of £30.00 returnable at the end of the course provided there has been no damage to centre property.

We provide a meet & greet service together with transportation to our centre At the airports, all BSC/ICH staff wear a uniform and carry large BSC/ICH signs.
Health & Safety
We operate a rigorous Health & Safety policy. Staff undergo a period of training & orientation prior to students arriving at each centre. All the relevant student: teacher ratios are adhered to as set out by the Children's Act and relevant governing bodies of language travel courses such as ARELS.
Medical
Each centre has a fully-qualified firstaider on site. In addition all centres have excellent links with local accident & emergency facilities.
Food
Our centre provides tasty nutritious meals with a choice of hot or cold food. All dietary requirements are also catered for at each centre.
Insurance
We strongly advise that students take out medical and travel insurance cover prior to the date of travel. Students may make their own arrangements or they can take out our weekly insurance cover policy should this be required. Our insurance policy covers the following areas:
- Medical & associated expenses
- Cancellation & curtailment
- Personal accident, baggage, clothes and personal effects
- Loss of money
- Travel delay

Force Majeure
In the event of 'force majeure' such as fire, flooding, infectious diseases and other events outside the company's reasonable control which may cause the closure of the school, no refund of fees will be made to students, except at the school's discretion in exceptional circumstances.
Disclaimer
All information provided by BSC/ICH is the responsibility of British Study Centres school of English. The details are published in good faith as of October 2008. We reserve the right to alter any particulars such as fees at the discretion of the company. We reserve the right to cancel any course or close any centre for whatever reason. Should this be necessary, we shall offer either a full refund or an alternative course for the same value.
