1. When can I start the course?
On any Monday.

2. How long can I study for?
The minimum is 2 weeks but you can study for as long as you want - up to 1 year if you wish!

3. What is the minimum age?
16 years old.

4. How do I book my course?
Just fill in the on-line application form.
Alternatively, you can contact an authorised British Study Centres agent in your country. We strongly advise you to do this as you will receive knowledgeable course advice in your own language and also information on applying for a visa (visa national students). Some agents will also book your flight tickets for you.

5. Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes. We ask for a deposit of £150 to secure the course and a deposit of £100 for accommodation if you require it.

6. How do I pay?
You can pay by:
  • Credit card (Visa, Eurocard, Mastercard, JCB);
  • Bank transfer (Bank of Scotland, 15 Queen Square, Brighton, BN1 3FD, Sort code: 12-12-68, Account No: 00170940)
  • Cheque in Sterling cheque or Eurocheque
  • Cash

7. Do I need a Visa to study at your school?
Students from European Union countries do not need a visa to study in the UK. The situation for students from other countries varies. Please check with a British Consulate or Embassy in your country of residence.

8. How many students are there in each class?
We have a maximum of 14 students per class and an average of under 10.

9. Where do the other students come from?
From all over the world! We have students from Europe, South America, Asia and Africa. Depending on the time of year, we have up to 35 different nationalities in our school!

10. Tell me about your teachers.
We select our teachers very carefully. Most of our teachers have a degree and all of them have an English language teaching qualification. They must also have the kind of personality which enjoys meeting people from all over the world and a desire to make their lessons stimulating and enjoyable. In a recent survey at British Study Centres Brighton, 100% of students surveyed rated their classes 'excellent' or 'good'!

11. Can I study anything extra besides English language?
Yes!
As well as its 3 language schools, British Study Centres also owns 2 business schools - in London and Brighton. This means you can choose from a range of further study options in Travel, Business Studies, Hotel Management, Computer Science, Fashion, Marketing, Web Design. Courses last from 3 days to 3 years and lead up to full degree level.

12. How far are your homestay families from the school?
In Oxford and Brighton around 30 minutes from the school. In London they are approx. 40 to 45 minutes from the school.

E-mail and WiFi internet access is free of charge at all of our schools.

British Study Centres, School of English, is a member of British Study Centres Group. As well as BSC, it consists of 2 vocational colleges - WLC and Hove College.
