Our English students
We believe the best reflection of our school is how our students feel. We are happy and successful only when they are happy and successful. Below are some of our past students' testimonials.
Velcho - Bulgaria.
Hi. I'm Velcho. I spent my best two weeks in Brighton!
The goal of my trip to Brighton was to improve my English speaking skills. I think that excursion helped me to start speak with others in English a lot! The staff is professional and helpful. Free time activities are also interesting. Brighton is a nice city. There are many pubs and very good night life.
One of the most important things is the ability to meet people from all around the world and learn as much as possible from their culture.
If you have a good opportunity to study in British Study Centres school in Brighton, try to stay for more than two weeks, because it is really short time.
I will never forget you!
Vivian - Brazil.
I came to Brighton to improve my English and also to meet people from other countries. I found a beautiful and friendly English School with the most prepared and warm teachers. Studying at British Study Centres has been an amazing experience for me and a nice way to get together and make friends. The social programme has also been a great opportunity to learn the language and to have fun. Brighton was definitely a good choice that I'll miss a lot.
Evelyne - France.
The teachers are very professional, competent, conscientious, helpful and available, good listeners and concerned about doing interesting courses. I've loved the methods of working, always very interactive, working by pairs or by teams. The small number of students in the courses is an excellent point.
What a surprise for me to meet students from the whole world, a good exchange, lots of things to learn from each other. This fantastic experience gives me the envy to come again to British Study Centres, located in the pleasant environment of Brighton.
Thea - Germany.
I went to Brighton in my holidays, at home in Germany I still go to school. I decided to go to England to practise and improve my English. I selected a course which included lessons in the afternoon as well as every morning. I think it is not as exhausting as I had expected. The lessons were really interesting and time passed by really quickly.
The teachers are not boring as at home; they always do different things so it does not get boring in class. I had a lot of fun in the business lessons. My visit was also really good for meeting new people from different countries. I enjoyed my holidays in Brighton and I am thinking about coming back after I finish school in Germany for a longer time because these 2 weeks here were too short.
Kasimir - Sweden.
I'm here for my school holidays. I enjoyed the time in the school because there is a very nice atmosphere. The classes are very small and I made many friends and had many interesting experiences.
Christoph - Sweden.
I enjoyed the good atmosphere at school. The teachers are very friendly and helpful. The classes are very small so the lessons are very efficient and useful. I learnt a lot of important things I hadn't learnt at school in my country before. It is very interesting to meet other people from other countries and other cultures. I think I will come back to Brighton and will do an exam.
What our staff say...
"Before coming to Brighton I've spent the last few years teaching abroad in Spain, Italy and Austria, so working in England makes an interesting change. Having students from so many difference countries is fantastic!" - Anne, a teacher, in Brighton
Nogo - France.
Hello, My name's Nogo Karamoko, I'm from France and I'm 22 years old. I arrived in Brighton four months ago.
Brighton is a young city and the people are very sociable and friendly. There are a lot of restaurants, pubs and shops. I find Brighton really impressive and interesting because you can see some wonderful places like Brighton Pier, Marina and the Museum.
I'm learning English at British Study Centre because I need it for my job and travelling. I'm content with my school because the teachers motivate the students to improve their English day after day.
In my free time, I sometimes walk along the beach when the weather is nice. Once a week, I do some shopping and I go to the pub with my classmates.
As far as I'm concerned, everything's going fine!
Ricardo - Brazil.
Hi! I'm Ricardo Miashiro from Brazil. I like Brighton because it's a city for everyone, young and old. There are so many restaurants and shops for the population and tourists. Best of all, Brighton has a crazy nightlife especially for young people and students.
As for the school, all the classes are very dynamic and my classmates are very friendly. All of my teachers have excellent knowledge, patience and they are very friendly. The school offers everything the students need to improve their English during the class and out of class. They have a great Internet and information lab and a good library.
I am planning to carry on studying English until the end of January 2004. This period has passed very quickly for me, but I have learnt many things about life and the people around me, and I will miss it.
Nathalie - Switzerland.
Hi. My name is Nathalie Voutaz and I'm from Switzerland. I have been studying at British Study Centres for seven weeks. I am now in the Intermediate class.
I like Brighton because there are a lot of things to do and visit. The social programme is really interesting. We can go out and enjoy the time with the other students.
It's really nice to have the choice between staying with a host family or in the student house.
The school is really nice and not too big! We can get to know everybody and the atmosphere is friendlier like this. The teachers are very nice and help us during the lesson. I like my classes. They are interesting and I can improve my English.
Keiko - Japan.
Keiko, pictured (left) with her friend Haruka, is a Pre-Intermediate student at British Study Centre in Brighton.
I've already studied at BSC for more than two months. Not only the teachers but also all of the other staff are very friendly and kind. They always try to make our lives easy whenever we have some questions and problems, so that we can study smoothly and comfortably.
My host family is also very friendly. I feel that I am one of the members of the family, and it is great to get native English conversation and lifestyle all in one. I even went on holiday to Spain with them! It was fantastic.
Our school is really close to the beach, so me and my friends like to take a walk and go swimming during the summer. It's really lovely seaside with stone beaches. The school is also quite near to two main stations, and its easy to get to the city centre, so we can go shopping and so on. We don't need to worry because we have everything we need for our stay.
I enjoy studying at BSC and its best because there are a lot of social programmes in this school. Sometimes we go to the pub after school, but there are sports and club nights, which I also like.
We can find a variety of pleasures at BSC!
Keiko Suzuki
Shaun - China.
Shaun (Xuan Ye Jia) is from China, and has been studying at the British Study Centre, Brighton since February '03. Here's what he has to say about the School:
All the classes are small in size, which guarantees a high quality of teaching and more communication between teachers and students. My classmates come from different parts of the world and speak distinct languages. It is really exciting! In the class, we spend a majority of time on topic discussion and love it because we are interested in different cultural backgrounds. I won't be surprised if I make rapid progress in English skills, in such a nurturing atmosphere.
In addition to the perfect academic background, our teachers are patient, responsible and enthusiastic. Actually, they are more our friends. All of these are fully embodied in our dynamic student-centred class the application-oriented study material and well-established communications.
It only took me a couple of days before I realised that studying here was a rewarding and exciting experience. Our school provides us with an innovative and stimulating environment and excellent learning facilities. Every student has free access to the library computers and books. I check and send email and correspond with my family and friends every day. It is really convenient. And as a bonus, located less than 100 meters from the sea, our school has a gorgeous and magnificent view.
Before I left for England, I just gave the accommodation officer a call. When I arrived, I was collected at the airport and was sent directly to my home stay. Having a sweet sleep, I started my studying the next day. Any worries I had were unnecessary, and everyone put me at ease. In addition, our school managed all of my personal business such as police registration; opening bank accounts and that made me concentrate on studying. It was just like home from home.
A wide range of social activities are on offer at our school. We have film club, food parties, weekend trips and other entertainment activities both in the week and at the weekend. All of these offer a fantastic opportunity for individuals to become team members and pursue levels of achievement outside studies.
Akiko - Japan.
The Brighton school staff were very kind and friendly, everybody was so nice, I really enjoy my stay in Brighton. I like my teachers, especially Radha who was very professional and Emma, I really enjoyed her class, I learnt a lot of vocabulary from her. She gave us many types of English games and activities.
