Our teenage mini-stay programme in Bournemouth is proving very popular and allows students aged 12-16 to combine their English course with activities and visits to exciting places. Last week, the school was buzzing with more than 50 students from Brazil and Spain, who enjoyed a busy but very rewarding time.
The programme includes 15 hours of General English a week. We aim to improve young learners’ confidence in the English language as quickly as possible. We work with a specific short course syllabus concentrating on the four main skills -- speaking, listening, reading and writing. As well as these four main skills we also work on other key areas to help develop fluency and accuracy -- pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, idioms.
Bournemouth is an ideal base for exploring the UK with many attractions on its doorstep. In the afternoon, the programme includes activities and trips, giving students a great opportunity to practise what they have learned in class. Our students were excited to visit nearby places of interest such us Portsmouth’s Naval Dockyard, Christchurch and the beautiful Jurassic coast. The highlight of the week was a trip to London with a tour of all the famous landmarks.
During classes, we have asked the students to give us their thoughts on their first UK experience. Here’s what they have had to say:
It’s not too late to book a mini-stay programme in Bournemouth this Easter! Courses last 1, 2 or 3 weeks and start on 24 & 31 March and 7 April.
