It’s the international food party at BSC London! Everyone who came brought food from their own country… there was Thai, Colombian, German, Spanish, British, Belgian, Australian, Zambian, Austrian, Japanese, Kazakh and more! I’ve never seen such a mix of food in one place -- check out the photos. All the food was laid out on a long table, so everyone could pick and choose what they wanted (and could eat!). At first some people were a bit unsure about some of the food, asking questions like “is this sweet?” and “what is THIS?” … but usually as soon as they tried it they went “ahh!” and wanted more! People were explaining to me how the food’s made, how you’re supposed to eat it, and when you eat it. For example, I didn’t know that sushi is a food that the Japanese don’t eat that often- only for celebrations.
I think the most popular was the Thai and Chinese.. but there were so many tasty foods like tortilla from Mexico, Serrano ham from Spain and bratwurst from Germany. The least popular, surprisingly, was the British food! It must be because people eat it every day. At a language school you get to meet lots of people from different countries, but not so much what they eat at home, so this was a really good experience. People really seemed to enjoy impressing their fellow students and teachers with food from their own country. There’s a few things I had the first time that I’ll definitely be having again! Thanks to all who came, delicious!
