Boat Party 2009!

Bookmark and Share

On Thursday the annual BSC London boat party was another hit with students and staff, as everyone had a fantastic time!

If you weren’t taking in the sights of London as the boat made its way down the river Thames, there was a party to be had. Everyone was in great spirits- the setting, the people, and the sights made it the best event of the year on the social programme. Even the weather played its part, starting off fine, and not disappointing with the mandatory flash shower! You could see all the sights along the river Thames- the houses of Parliament, St Paul’s Cathedral- so many spectacular views of London. And as it descended into night the lights reflected off the river, and the financial district was lit up, really adding to the atmosphere.

The journey started at Battersea power station, near Chelsea, and ended at the Thames barrier where the river meets the sea. The disco enticed many inside the boat later on and the winners of last week’s treasure hunt in London were announced to great excitement (see pictures above of the winners).

It’s the first time I’ve been to the BSC boat party, and everybody told me beforehand it was the event of the year. After being at several other language schools as a student, I wasn’t disappointed! Long after the boat had docked people had to be told to leave! Facebook is now exploding with pictures from students and staff!

Thanks to Lucy for organizing the gig and making sure it went without a hitch! More pictures are available on the BSC London Facebook page.
