…according to the LTM Star Awards. BSC has been shortlisted in the top 5 with a chance to win the title of best English school in Europe in September! Andrew Roper (managing director) has been here since the start, he must be jumping up and down with excitement-

1) What would you do if you win? A champagne dinner, all students and staff invited?!

“If we won, it would be unbelievable! Just imagine being voted the best language school in Europe…what a dream come true that would be!

There are over 900 accredited English language schools in Europe so to be chosen in the top 5 is an unbelievable honour. We’re ‘over the moon’ about it. And to think, we only launched BSC in 2002. It’s been an amazing few years. It would be Champagne all-round and definitely a good old-knees up for all staff if we did win, everyone has worked so hard to get us to where we are today….keep your fingers crossed for 5 September!!”

2) Are you going to wear a tuxedo to the awards ceremony?

“Sure -- I may have to buy a new one, though. I think I last wore a tuxedo to a university cricket dinner in 1987 and I’ve put on a pound or two since then, ahem… “

3) Who will you bring with you to the ceremony?

“I’m hoping to book a table so we could bring along a good crowd, the more people cheering us on, the better. It would be great if our three School Directors, James, Paul and John could come along to represent their schools. They and their staff should be very proud of what they’ve achieved in their respective schools. It’s an incredibly proud moment for all of us.”

4) I take it now you can relax and you won’t be opening any more schools or buildings for a while?

“Actually, quite the opposite! It feels like we’re on a bit of a roll at the moment with the schools growing, junior courses starting this summer at Ardingly and Cheltenham and feedback from agents and students so positive on our teaching, accommodation and facilities. Confidence is high…it’s got to be the time to open more schools, surely?!
