Student Testimonials

We believe the best reflection of our school is how our students feel. We are happy and successful only when they are happy and successful. Here you'll find some of our past students' testimonials.

Enrico, Italy

Hi! My name is Enrico Roasenda from Italy, I've been in BSC for six months. Here I have had one of the most intense and stimulating expariences of my life. At the beginning I booked for three months but after the first good results I decided to do three more months.

In my life I have been on many English Summer Courses and I saw many schools, but BSC is absolutely the most organized, with wonderful staff who are always kind and available for everything. Also the teachers are well prepared and have good methods, they are always ready to help you, in the classroom you study, speak, write, play, project, act… and the results are exellent!

The BSC in Manchester street is really big with lots of students from every country, it is incredibile how meeting foreign people can make you realize how the real world is and makes you grow up… well, here I have met lots of people and I made friends from everywhere, from Islands to Venezuela and great and shy Korean and Japanese.

I especially enjoyed the salsa on the "Social Activity" after school, like the "Friday Football" and the guided trips by the energetic Claudia around all of London, from the museums to the long walks in the City or in the parks. I must dedicate a space to the "Pub Night", happy hour organized by BSC in all different pubs or clubs where the majority of the students participate. In those evenings you can really meet lots of new people that soon become real friends and why not? A furure holiday somewhere in the world!

Do you think that study and visiting London isn't enough for you? Well BSC can give you more! The school can find interviews for an intership in all kinds of company, and there you can improve and learn more English and also gain some work experience, but a piece of advice… the school finds the interview but after that it's up to you!

I'm sure that all the time that I have spent here has helped me to grow up and mature! I have met lots of people that I'll remember for the rest of my life and I hope to see again.

Thanks BSC! Thanks London! I'll never forget all the time that I spent here!

Björn, Germany

Hello, my name is Björn and I'm from Germany. I've studied at British Study Centres for 6 weeks and so far I've had a whale of a time!

During my study at BSC I've improved my English very much, especially my private lessons which have been very helpful to get used to speaking English. To be honest, I didn't believe that I'd improve my English to such a good level, when I left the school after 6 weeks and I was concerned about my English skills because of the following internship with an investment trust in London. But after this internship I can say that I've done business in English and my employer was quite happy with my English skills. Thanks BSC!

But that's only one part of my experience with BSC. One of the best things at BSC is that you don't learn just English - you learn English and you have a lot of fun as well. My teachers were all very kind and sometimes we met them after school. In this way we had a great opportunity to have fun and to improve our English at the same time. The social events organised by the school were amazing. I never will forget the trips with Claudia and my new friends from the school. It was fantastic to discover London with other guys from all over the world. I've made so many new friends from so many countries, who I'm going to visit in the following years. The members of the admin team were really helpful. There is one other reason why I enjoyed my stay at BSC so much. Even the School Director, James had, more often than not, time to chat about football (and of course other topics - but are there any other important topics?). Thanks for managing my two trips to a West Ham Premier League and a Chelsea Champions League match!

Finally I can say: I've gained a lot of life experience and I've improved my English as well - thank you BSC!

And last but not least: James - Good luck for West Ham and I'll meet you at "Betzenberg" next year!

Nao, Japan

Hi! My name is Nao Kuwada and I'm from Japan. I've been studying at BSC for 6 months. I was able to make lots of new friends. And this is the first time for me to talk and have friendships with foreigners. Furthermore, I have a French boyfriend as I met him in this school!

I know that sometimes it is very difficult to talk with each other in English. It was embarrassing when I discovered I couldn't make myself understood. Unfortunately I don't exactly know how to explain to everyone how I feel... but when I can use the expressions I learn I feel great! I like to study English and I enjoy speaking English with school friends. It's a valuable experience for all my life!

I like going shopping in London. There are lots of nice street markets here. You can see different kinds of fashionable people and eat many different foods.

The nightlife is exciting! I usually hang out with my friends and also some weekends I went to outside London, to Europe.

It's all been amazing! Thanks to BSC, I really enjoyed it here! I'll never forget my beautiful memories.

Ritisak, Thailand

Hi, my name is Ritisak. I'm from Thailand. I've been studying at BSC for 7 months and I've gained a lot of experience and had a great time at school. It has been amazing.

Before I came to london I felt a little bit nervous as I couldn't speak english very well and I didn't know anyone in London and I had to live alone but after I got here I met many people from all over the world. I made many friends and I enjoy going out and having fun with my friends and having parties. Sometimes we cook - I've tried many foods from many countries and learnt about many different cultures. I love it!

The school's social program is great - every week you can see a different part of London. We had a party on a boat which went along the River Thames. We saw a beautiful view of London. The school also organises trips to pubs and clubs. Sometimes we go out to see football matches, watch movies, or go to parks or museums. We also travel to other towns or to the beach. The activities help me to improve my English as well.

In class I've met a lot of teachers and they're very good. The teachers have a way of making you understand clearly. Sometimes we play games or do activities in the class, which I enjoy.

This is just a little bit about the great time I have had and the many great memories of mine here. I love London, I love BSC, thank you!

Eleftherios, Greece

Hi, my name is Eleftherios Vezos and I come from Greece. I have been studying English at BSC for 1 year. Before I came here I had quit everything in Greece because I just wanted to follow my dream which is to do a masters degree and to work in England. It was not easy to achieve this because I did not speak any English. I started in the elementary class at BSC and I remember thinking that it would be impossible one day to start my masters in England. In addition I thought I would not be able to speak and to understand English well.

I am now very happy because I am going to start my masters very soon. I really appreciate what they did for me how they helped me. Also all the teachers were so kind, helpful, and very experienced. If I had not attended this school I would not have done it!!! Also something very important for me is that I made a lot of very good friends from everywhere, I found out a lot of interesting things about different cultures.

Thank you very much BSC for this fantastic year! Thank you very much because you helped me achieve my dream.

Wonjae, South Korea

Hi, my name is Wonjae Lee. I am from Seoul, South Korea. I've been in London for 9 months with BSC. It was a great experience for me.

I remember when I first came to BSC. I was concerned as to how I would adjust. But my fears were utterly groundless. The school gave to me a warm and cozy feeling and in the classroom the atmosphere was filled with laughter and friendly mood. I felt comfortable in my class and my anxiousness completely disappeared and I've gained confidence. It was very useful for improving my English.

I made a lot of good friends when I was in the school. I've experienced something priceless with my friends in London. Every time I made contact with my friends from another country I learn their culture and they learn from my culture. I was lucky to have such as good friends. I think that time was a present for me.

I am grateful to BSC for the nice time. I remember it as if happened yesterday and I had a wonderful time such and I'd like to turn back time if I could.

I love London as much as I love BSC. Thank you.

Luis Felipe, Colombia

When I put a foot in the school for the first time the thing that I will never forget is a big smile coming from the people of the reception, because this is the kind of things that means a lot to you when you are feeling like a strange person in a country that you have never been, as it was in my case. After my first impression, almost instantly I was inside of a room with people from a several number of countries, and not only that, with people with different ages, cultures, manners, professions, etc. And this is one of the most interesting issues, that you learn English, but at the same time you are learning everything about different regions and cultures around the whole world, and sharing yours with new friends.

About the classes, I don't know if I'm a lucky person, but the teachers that I have had, in my concept, are excellent, very professional in their jobs, and they just seem to enjoy teaching, so in that order, it just makes the lessons useful and at the same time quite amusing.

Another fact that I've really enjoyed is that the school is not only aimed at the English language knowledge, you can also find every kind of activity intended to entertain the students on their free time, with things like going to museums and galleries, visiting special places in the city or going to the very famous pub night to have a few pints with your friends. So that, gives you the opportunity to enjoy the stay in London, to meet new friends, and also to learn everything about the city and the Britain culture.

Personally, there are some facts that have not been easy for me since I arrived to these lands, like being so far away from my family, the drastic differences between English food and the food I used to eat, the high prices for everything, among others. However, I am impressed about a very developed and multicultural city, with people aware of the sense of living in community, with a public transport amazingly thorough, with outstanding tourist places, with opportunities for work and with food from every part of the world that you can imagine.

Carolina, Colombia

I have been in London for six months and my experience has been wonderful. At the beginning, during my first 2 months, it was complicated not because of the food (there is good food here not only the fish and chips) or the weather (it's not raining all the time, that's a lie!) it was because I had never lived on my own.

I was late for my first day of school because I took the right bus in the wrong direction (if that happen to you just keep calm and carry on!) I couldn't understand why people wanted to have 'take away' food (now I know there is not enough time and I can have my take away while I'm walking, sending a message and talking with the person next to me (here you learn to multitask).

At school I have met people I get on with and all my teachers and staff have been very kind giving advice and helping whenever I've needed.

The only stuff I can't stand it the tube: dark and packed.

Anyway I haven't just improved my English, I'm more independent and my kitchen skills are better so I can say I'm good at cooking.

I have got good friends and I'm so pleased that now I'm extending my course!

Anthony, France

Hi, my name is Anthony and I come from France. I quit my last job as a mechanic, to improve my English in British Study Centres in London to find a better job in France.

I came here for my first time in April and I stayed 1 month. During the month, I enjoyed my life. When I went back to France I booked for 3 months more because this is just an amazing experience. So I came back here in June. I want to come back because you meet people come from everywhere in the world. It's like a family. You do everything with them. You go to eat in a park, to drink something in a pub, to visit something in London or outside the city etc... This is just outside the school.

Inside the school is really nice because you can't see the time pass. All the teachers have a good qualification and when they start the lessons they use different kind of subjects to help you to improve your English. For example, in first lesson the teacher ask you about something you did the last day outside of the school. And after that he corrects mistakes. And you just have to speak with everybody and to listen to your classmates.

If you can you should do it. It's an experience of the life you shouldn't miss. And now, in August, I will leave London. I will miss everybody I had met here.

Christina, Germany

My name is Christina and I am from Germany. I spent a fantastic time at British Study Centres! I experienced a lot during my stay in London. First of all, the weather was better than expected, even though I was in London during the winter time. The weather in the UK is not as bad as you may think. The thing I liked the most was that I got to know a lot of people of different nationalities. London is a multicultural city, so you can meet people from all over the world.

All of my teachers were very experienced so I found it very easy to pick up English. There were seven students in my class so we could learn quickly. I felt well-prepared for my FCE exam. Furthermore, I liked the fact that BSC provided us with a wide range of facilities like free internet access, library and social programme. In addition to that BSC provided me a nice and clean student house in which I really liked to live in.

Surely it was not cheap, but everything was well-organised so I was able to enjoy my time in London straight from the beginning. Even when I was lost, had questions or needed help someone was there to help me. To sum up, if I wanted to come to the UK again to study English, BSC would definitely be my first choice.

Cristina, Spain

Hello! My name is Cristina and I'm from Barcelona. I'm very satisfied to be in this school. I wanted to improve my English because in Spain I work in a business company and I thought it would be a great idea for my work and, of course, personal experience for me! I have been in London for two months, but really now I want to stay more!!!

The atmosphere in the school is fantastic. The classes have all kinds of activities where I can participate to speak and listen to English and also it is an opportunity to meet people from all around the world. The people are very nice, and also you can share with the students and teachers other activities like to go to museums, pubs, parks, to discover the amazing life of London city.
