Red Nose Day

Staff at BSC Brighton school raised over £500 on Friday March 13th for the Comic Relief Charity. As part of the 'Red Nose Day' celebrations, Christian Tiplady, the Academic Director, was brave enough to be sponsored to have all his hair shaved off. Indeed many of the staff and students came in fancy dress to celebrate the day and other staff members volunteered for the traditional 'custard pie in the face' which the students enjoyed enormously.

The £500 will be donated to the UK Comic Relief Charity (for more information please see www.comicrelief.com) who help many national and international causes. Our congratulations to all involved.

Pub Quiz

On Friday 22nd October BSC Brighton hosted a pub quiz in the school café. The event attracted more than 30 students who were eager to put their general knowledge to the test. They competed in teams of 3 or 4 and had to master questions that covered a wide range of subject areas such as science, film and music, literature, sports and many more. In the end 3 teams were tied for first place and the winner had to be determined in a decider. Salvatore, Viviana, Luigi and Anna of the team 'Fish & Chips' were able to wrap up the final round and won cinema tickets for a film of their choice along with a bottle of champagne. Congratulations!

Look out for our regular pub quizzes on the social programme!

Seven Sisters Country Park

Situated in the Sussex Downs 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty', the Seven Sisters Country Park comprises miles and miles of chalk cliffs, meandering river valleys and open chalk grassland. It is a popular place for a number of outdoor activities including walking, bird watching, cycling and canoeing. The park has a long and interesting history, including some fascinating shipwrecks which you can discover on a series of shore walks, and many historic features. The park is a great place to explore on foot and offers spectacular views of the Seven Sisters cliffs, Seaford Head, Cuckmere Haven and the surrounding downs.

The Country Park is named after the famous Seven Sisters that form part of the chalk cliffs on the Sussex Coast, one of Britain's finest natural coastlines. For a great day out exploring the nearby countryside with a picnic and some friends head to Seven Sisters, a short bus ride from Brighton.
