Charles, Business Course Leader
Hi! I have been working with British Study Centres for several years and we have developed many interesting programmes. I am passionate about providing the best possible programmes for our students and ensuring they maximise their learning potential.
I live near the beautiful city of Oxford and I love my cycle to work through the country side. Many people cycle in Oxford - it's a great way to get around.
I hope to see you in Oxford this summer.

I am now a partner at Lewis Silkin - recognised as one of the leading employment law firms in the country. I am based in the firm's Oxford office although my work regularly takes me to London and all round the country. Sarah Saward, MD, Rae Productions
Hello. I'm a freelance conference producer and work with production companies to produce large and medium events for blue chip clients. I've been in the business for over 15 years and have produced events across the world for some of the biggest companies in the world. The type of events I produce include internal and external conferences, product launches, gala dinners and awards ceremonies.
Key tasks that I own include organisation of speakers and all their media, production of schedules and running orders, liaison with press and talent to ensure that there are no surprises on the day. Onsite I am often booked as a show producer, owning the delivery of the event on the day for the production company. I enjoy working with the presenters and crew to produce a smooth event that runs to time.
I work on a 'freelance' model and will give you an insight into working on your own and then quickly becoming a member of different teams both remotely and when onsite. I'll also give you an insight into the events industry, the often overlooked channel of the marketing discipline, and explain what I think makes for a successful and compelling event.
Finally I'll be setting you some creative challenges and seeing just how effectively you can work together as a team.
Sylwia Presley
Hi! I am a social media marketer specializing in the non profit sector. I have been actively involved in new media since my own college years and hope to share with you my experiences, as well as learnings from past and current work with new technologies. I have been involved in word of mouth marketing in the commercial sector for about 3 years, however I am currently focusing on applying this rather new approach to marketing specifically for the 3rd sector in the UK and globally.
I am involved in some great work with Global Voices - an international network of journalist citizens. As a part of that project I am currently working on the Technology for Transparency project, here in Oxford preparing for the Barcamp Transparency UK event planned for December. I have been involved in organizing Oxford Twestival, Voice meetup and currently work on the first meeting of Oxford Girl Geek Dinners - event for women in Technology. I am also the host of the monthly virtual event - Social Media Breakfast - dedicated to social media marketing for nonprofits.
You will find more about my past and current commitments from my site, but I hope to use my time with you to provide you with practical solutions, tools and mechanics of on-line promotion via social media, usage of a few media tools for brand positioning and increasing brand awareness. I will let you decide whether you want to focus on a commercial or personal brand, but I hope that at the end of the session you will be inspired to define, project and develop the image of the chosen brand on-line.
Angela Liddiard
Hello, I am Angela and I am delighted to be asked to speak on this summer's course. I teach eMarketing at Oxford Media & Business School and am absolutely fascinated at how the Internet has evolved to become the biggest marketing tool available. It seems incredible that six years ago we had not heard of Facebook or Twitter but now they are so important in getting the marketing message across. Who know what the next six years will bring...
