Summer Business Courses in Oxford
Study our exciting business programme this summer in the famous University city of Oxford, also available at our London partner centre.
From day one we immerse you in the world of business through dynamic classes and a variety of business visits, projects and group work. You will learn the way business is structured and conducted.
Taught by our Business Studies department in Oxford, this programme is ideal for young university level students who wish to gain a basic understanding of the world of business.
Classes
Each day you will have classes from 09:00 to 12:00 with many extra business-related activities such as:
- The High Flyer (July) – From day one you will start up a business with your team and compete to be the most successful group by performing a number of tasks - negotiating, team leadership, corporate presentation etc.
- Entrepreneurs Den (August) – In small teams you will create a business concept including a business plan. You will present your ideas to a team of investors who will thoroughly question the business concept including strategy, marketing and return on investment.
- Guest lecturers - industry experts from real companies.
- Business Excursions - All students participate in our fun and informative business trips which may include visits such as the BMW-Mini manufacturing plant, the Law Courts, a major Retailer, a high-street Bank etc. There is normally 1 excursion every 2 weeks.
- Work experience - for those students wanting to continue with a career in the UK this can be organised for a fee (for EU students only).
The 8 week programme covers all subjects shown below in Part One and Part Two from 5 July to 27 August 2010. Students on the 4 week programme will study all subjects shown in Part One if they study from 5 to 30 July 2010 or Part Two if they study from 2 to 27 August 2010.

Final Award
- 4 weeks: British Study Centres Certificate in Business Studies
- 8 weeks: British Study Centres Higher Certificate in Business Studies
The grading of the certificate will depend on attendance (which should be above 85%), assignments and class participation. All classes are compulsory.
Requirements
A good intermediate English level. Students should also have completed at least high school level although most students are currently studying at university or working full time.
English Language Options
Afternoon English language classes are an excellent way to improve and practise your English during the Business programme. Choose from either 5 or 10 lessons per week.
